Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Greet and interact with customers.
  • Consult with customers to understand their needs and preferences related to merchandise.
  • Assist with customers’ orders by loading and unloading products as needed.
  • Maintain product stock in the store and warehouse.
  • Assemble products and displays.
  • Deliver products to customer delivery points.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment (delivery truck, forklift, etc.) and facilities.
  • Dispense propane and kerosene.
  • Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Safely and regularly operate a vehicle to make deliveries, visit various worksites, other businesses or customer locations.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Exhibit an ability to receive feedback, adapt to new processes and continuously develop skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate well and effectively relay information with an emphasis on developing positive professional relationships.
  • Practice punctual and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment.
  • Possess a valid driver license and maintain a safe driving record.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods; walk, bend, stoop and kneel frequently.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 60 pounds.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Proven track record of being dependable and reliable.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license (or 18 years of age with a valid commercial driver’s license) to operate a commercial motor vehicle (10,001 lbs. GVWR).
  • Maintain a safe and insurable driving record.
  • Be able to obtain a Medical Examiner’s Certificate for the operation of a commercial motor vehicle.
  • Experience working in a retail setting.
  • Product knowledge in one or more of the following areas: feed, seed, pet food & supplies, hardware, fencing, animal health, tack, clothing & footwear, lawn & garden or wild bird supplies.
  • Experience dispensing propane cylinders.
  • Experience safely operating pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.

Schedule

This is a full time, 40 hours per week position (schedule will vary). Sunday through Saturday. Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.

Compensation & Benefits
